Disney's best live-action remakes have been so successful for the studio that the question is when, not if, your favorite Disney animated film will get the live-action treatment. Frozen and Frozen II They were the first to appear, they were the highest grossing animated films ever made until Inside Out 2 It recently broke that record, so it's surprising that a live-action adaptation hasn't been announced yet.
Honestly, that announcement could come any day now, because Anya Taylor-Joy has expressed interest in playing a live-action version of Elsa. Needless to say, this idea blew up the Internet, because she certainly looks perfect for the role. It got the original actress excited, too. Frozen cast, as Josh Gad responded to the idea in Ragsindicating that he wants to be a part of the upcoming live-action film, but not as Olaf. Gad said…
Clearly, if Anya Taylor-Joy stars in a live-action movie Frozen For Josh Gad, reprising his role as Olaf isn't enough. Olaf would obviously be a CGI character in such a movie, but Gad apparently wants to get on set to act alongside Taylor-Joy, so he's in the running to play Prince Hans of the Southern Isles, the film's villain.
While Josh Gad doesn't look anything like Hans in the same way Anya Taylor-Joy looks like Elsa, he'd make an excellent Disney villain. Honestly, he'd be pretty good in that role. Hans is charismatic and funny, but secretly dishonest. Gad would be great at all of that. More importantly, playing Hans would give him more scenes with Anya Taylor-Joy than he would have if he played Kristoff.
Since we know that a live action Moana The movie is on the way, and Disney certainly has no problem giving some of its newer animated films the live-action treatment. A live-action movie is rumored to be Frozen The film is among Disney's upcoming live-action remakes planned, but nothing has been officially announced yet.
While there has been talk about the project in the studio, it's hard to imagine Anya Taylor-Joy wasn't already on the casting wish list. She's an incredible actress, she already has the right look, and we know she can sing. Taylor-Joy performed a soulful version of “Downtown” in A night in SohoI think we'd all love to hear what he can do with “Let it Go.”
The only downside is that Taylor-Joy is almost 30 and Elsa is supposed to be much younger. Anyway, that means Disney should not waste any time and make the movie as soon as possible.
One movie we know is coming is Frozen 3That film, which will be split into two parts, won't be released until 2027. There's a good chance we could see a live-action version. Frozen before the third animated film arrives.
