Thanks to a pizza veteran with 25 years of experience, the Tesla Inc TSLA cyber truck We can now add the food truck to the list of use cases for the electric van that began making deliveries to customers in November 2023.
What happened: Tesla CEO unveiled the Cybertruck Elon Musk in 2019 and faced several delays before being launched in 2023. Known for its unique design and for being Tesla's first production pickup truck, Musk has said his dream vehicle was meant to be a combination of something out of “Blade Runner” and the James Bond film “The Spy Who Loved Me.”
“I specifically wanted to make something that looked like the future. What car would 'Blade Runner' drive?” Musk said in a previous interview.
While the Cybertruck comes with plenty of advanced features and use cases, we're not sure operating a pizza food truck was what Musk had in mind.
pizza veteran Fabio Antonio Arbelaez It has done just that by retrofitting two Cybertrucks to cook pizza via a conveyor belt and oven system that heats up to 600 degrees.
“It's fast and quick. It has enough power to cook a pizza in about two minutes,” Arbeláez said. said the New York Post.
Arbelaez is a longtime partner at Columbia Inn Restaurant, a New Jersey pizzeria. The pizza veteran uses the two-tiered grills with the Cybertruck's 240-volt outlet in the cargo bed.
Together, the two Cybertrucks can cook 120 pizzas per hour. The pizza ovens can run for about eight hours and still have a range of 80 kilometers with constant use.
“People are pretty surprised to see a Cybertruck in public, and even more surprised when they see the pizza.”
Cybertrucks pizza food trucks have a sign that reads “The Jersey Thinn Crust Pizza,” and Arbelaez has earned the nickname “Mr. Tesla” as one of the first electric vehicle owners in his area.
Arbelaez admits that the Cybertruck's unique design generates a lot of reactions from people.
“The best compliment I've ever received is that the truck looks like a dumpster. It's ugly, but it does its job like no other.”
The Cybertruck food trucks, which were acquired last winter, also went viral in August for a stop in Sports stool Midtown Office. Founder of Barstool Sports David Portnoy gave one of his famous One bite pizza reviews with a rating of 8.7 out of 10.
Arelaez has driven Cybertruck pizza food trucks around New York and New Jersey and plans to do more.
“The goal of Cybertrucks is that at some point they will be able to make driverless deliveries. You simply place the order and the order will be delivered to your home.”

Why it is important: Musk has called the Cybertruck the best product Tesla has ever launched and there are high hopes that the vehicle could become the best-selling electric pickup truck of all time and compete with traditional gas-powered pickups.
