On September 22, 1994, viewers made six new friends with the cast of the hit NBC series. FriendsNow, decades later, we have seen Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green), Courtney Cox (Monica Geller), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Matt Le Blanc (Joey Tribbiani), Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing) and David Schwimmer (Ross Geller) takes on numerous other roles over the years.
The group of friends went from aimless twentysomethings to adults with great careers, less complicated love lives and growing families over the show's 10-season run. Still, fans can't forget the iconic Central Perk-goers, leading to talk of a revival.
HBO Max announced that the original cast would reunite for the first time for an unscripted reunion special, which premiered in May 2021. Two years later, the Friends Fandom and cast alike mourned the loss of Perry, who died at age 54 in October 2023.

Jennifer Aniston
The megastar has been hard at work since leaving her famous Rachel hairdo behind. Aniston starred in many big-screen roles in box office hits and awards season favorites including He's Just Not That Into You, Marley & Me, We're the Millers, Horrible Bosses, Cake and Dumplin'. In 2019, she returned to television as a star and executive producer on Apple TV+'s The Morning Show, which earned her a SAG Award. She was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at the 2024 Emmy Awards. A year after Friends ended, Aniston and then-husband Brad Pitt divorced. She married Justin Theroux in 2015. The duo split in 2017.
Matt Le Blanc
After Friends, LeBlanc focused his efforts on the industry behind the scenes. His production company, Fort Hill Productions, co-produced the 2006 TV movie The Prince. The actor, who split from Melissa McKnight in 2006 after three years of marriage, is the father of their daughter Marina. His continued television success includes his Showtime series Episodes and his CBS sitcom Man With a Plan. He also co-hosted Top Gear from 2016 to 2019.
Courtney Cox
The mother of daughter Coco with ex-husband David Arquette, Cox starred in the sitcom Cougar Town, which aired on ABC and TBS, with its final episode airing in April 2014. Following her divorce from Arquette, the actress began a romance with Snow Patrol rocker Johnny McDaid. In 2019, she hosted and executive produced 9 Months with Courteney Cox. She later appeared in Scream 5 in 2022 and Scream VI in 2023.
David Schwimmer
Schwimmer, known to younger audiences as the voice of Melman the giraffe in the Madagascar animated films, made his feature film directorial debut with Run, Fatboy, Run (2007). He has also appeared on Broadway in The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial. In 2012, he starred as Newell L. Miller in Web Therapy alongside Kudrow. Schwimmer stole the show again on the small screen as Robert Kardashian in The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story (2016) and in his season 10 arc on Will & Grace. In 2020, he landed a role in Intelligence, a British television comedy that was picked up by Peacock. Schwimmer was married to artist Zoë Buckman from 2010 to 2017. They share a daughter, whom they welcomed in 2011.
Lisa Kudrow
Now married with a son, Kudrow was the co-creator, writer, and star of HBO’s The Comeback in 2005, about a fading sitcom star who longs for a second chance. Though the actress earned an Emmy nomination for her role as Valerie Cherish, the series was canceled after just 13 episodes. However, the show returned in 2014 when HBO brought it back for Season 2. The star also appeared in Web Therapy, P.S. I Love You, Easy A, Grace and Frankie, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. In 2020, she landed a recurring role on Netflix’s Space Force.
Matthew Perry
Perry became known to a new generation of fans when he portrayed the adult version of Zac Efron's character in 2009's 17 Again. The actor also appeared in numerous television series, including Mr. Sunshine, The Good Wife, Go On, and The Odd Couple. He underwent surgery for a gastrointestinal perforation in 2018. In November 2020, Perry became engaged to talent manager Molly Hurwitz. They split six months later. Perry died in October 2023 at age 54 after an apparent drowning. An autopsy later revealed that Perry's death was caused by the “acute effects of ketamine,” with coronary artery disease and the effects of buprenorphine also listed as contributing factors.
