If mine were not for The world turnsI would have recurring dreams about being in a soap opera,” he reflected. “So being in general hospital, I guess it's literally a dream come true. But there were so many things I got from being in The world turns. It was my first job. There was so much going on, especially with the character, and I think I was so young that I didn't understand it and didn't really appreciate it.”

I've had scenes with a lot of different people because Lucas was born on the show, so he knows a lot of people in town. I did as much research as I could, but sometimes I would just ask the actor I was working with, 'How do I know you? Do we like each other? Am I happy you're back with so-and-so? And everyone was very helpful in telling the backstory.”
One person Hansis was particularly excited to see on set was Maura Westwho played Carly Tenney in While the world turns but now she plays Ava Jerome in general hospital.
“I was leaving a costume fitting. [and] she was grabbing her wardrobe for the day. “This was the day we had scenes together and she just looked at me and it was like she saw a ghost,” he recalled. “She was like, 'Are you guys going?' And she gave me a big hug and then said, 'Wait, are you Lucas?' And I said, 'Yes,' and she screamed so loud that the security guard came down to see because he thought someone was getting hurt or something.”
