Spirit Halloween Applauds on SNL After Sketch Dig Premiere

Spirit Halloween is clapping Saturday night live for making fun of the costume shop during a recent sketch.

After the late-night comedy series featured a segment ignoring Halloween retail during its 50th season premiere on Saturday, September 28, Spirit Halloween took to social media to shed a subtle tone of its own.

“We're great at raising things from the dead @nbcsnl,” the outlet said. official page x she captioned a photo of a costume titled “Irrelevant 50 Year Old TV Show.” The costume's packaging claimed it included “dated references,” “unknown cast members,” and “declining ratings.”

Social media users quickly took to the comments section to praise Spirit for the prank and roast themselves. SNL in the process. “This was so much funnier than his video,” one person wrote, while another said, “Can you fill his schedule sometime?”

Host: Smart Jeanon saturday SNL The episode didn't hesitate to make Spirit the butt of the joke. A pre-recorded sketch showed SNL Heidi Gardner, Chloe Fineman and Michael Longfellow like employees filming a fake commercial for the retailer.

“Times may be good on Wall Street, but communities on Main Street are struggling,” Gardner says in voiceover. “Stores closed, businesses closed, parking lots empty. …When tough times come, it's easy to feel like no one cares. But help is on the way.”

The trio say that where others see old cities or abandoned K-Marts, they see a place to build their store “for six weeks and then bounce.”

“We are here providing vulnerable communities with what they need most,” Fineman explains. “Wigs that give you rashes, single-use fog machines, and celebrity costumes modified enough to avoid a lawsuit.”

Longfellow adds: “And thanks to us, what used to be the condemned Auto Zone, where a murder occurred, is a thriving business again. …Where a murder occurred.”

The sketch then mocks Spirit employees, joking that the company offers “six-week jobs for some of the hardest hit perverts.”

The segment ends with a young woman asking Fineman for a Taylor Swift suit. “You betcha,” Fineman responds with a smile as he hands her the “Blonde Woman Singing” package.

“This is not Taylor Swift,” the girl says. “And neither are you,” Fineman responds with a smile as he punches her in the nose.

“Halloween spirit. When you need us, we are here. For six weeks,” the trio says. “Because on November 1 we are leaving. And all this trash will be in the dumpster.”

SNL promises many more important sketches in the coming months to celebrate its 50 seasons on the air. Their October and November list of presenters includes Ariana Grande, Michael Keaton and John Mulaneywhile stevie nicks, Billie Eilish and Chappell Roan are among the musical performances included in the program.
