The most exciting newcomer: English teacher

What to know: After ending in 2004, the show follows snobby former psychiatrist Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) in his “third act” in Boston, where he meets his estranged son.

Why should you watch it? After making a guest appearance last season, Frasier's beloved radio station co-worker Roz Doyle will be a recurring cast member.
Best couple: Abbott Elementary School

When: Season 4 of Abbott Elementary School The series premieres on October 9 and airs Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Episodes stream the following day on Hulu.

What to know: The Emmy-winning series follows brilliant teacher Janine Teagues (Quinta Brunson) and her eccentric colleagues, including her mentor (Sheryl Lee Ralph) and chaotic principal (Janelle James).

Why you should watch it: Janine and Gregory Eddie (Tyler James Williams) may not technically be a couple yet, but their slow-burning romance finally reignited in the Season 3 finale, so the new season will likely address the fallout.

What to know: Justin Hartley plays a lone survivor who travels the country searching for bounties and helping people solve mysteries.

Why you should watch it: The first season was the most-watched of the 2023-2024 season. No other first-year show has achieved that distinction since. Survivor in the year 2000.
The most intriguing new era: Georgie and Mandy's first marriage

When: Season 1 of Georgie and Mandy's first marriage premieres October 17 and airs Thursdays at 8pm ET on CBS.

What to know: Young Sheldon aired its final episode in May, but the Big Bang Theory The spin-off will have its own sequel that follows Sheldon Cooper's older brother and his wife.

Why should you watch it? Montana Jordan and Emily Osment star in the first show in the franchise to do without super-genius Sheldon. Whether it has the same impact remains to be seen, but viewers seem to be warming up to the young parents from Texas.
The new classic: Ghosts

What to know: Homeowners Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) share a sprawling rural estate with an eclectic cast of ghosts, from a brash lounge singer to an upbeat 1980s Boy Scout troop leader.

Why should you watch it? The ensemble comedy is based on a British series, but has become a television staple in its own right, not unlike The office, but with less cringeworthy humor and more unsettling chaos.
Best Dressed: Elsbeth

What to know: The comedy-drama spin-off of The good wife takes on a lighter tone, following Carrie Preston's unconventional lawyer character, Elsbeth Tascioni.

Why should you watch it? While Elsbeth's costumes are certainly colorful and quirky, the way the show takes the procedural formula and dresses it up in fascinatingly fresh ways makes it a must-see movie.
The most action-packed: The equalizer

When: Season 5 of The equalizer premieres October 20 and airs Sundays at 9:30 pm ET on CBS.

What to know: The crime drama, which is a remake of a 1985 series, stars Queen Latifah as a single mother and street vigilante seeking her own redemption while helping others seek justice.

Why should you watch it? The emotional suspense of the final season keeps us on the edge of our seats as much as the show's high-octane stunts.
The greatest ending: Yellowstone

When: Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2, premieres November 10 and airs Sundays at 8pm ET on Paramount Network.

What to know: The contemporary Western drama follows the conflicts between the Dutton family, who own the ranch, the nearby Indian reservation, the national park and real estate developers.

Why should you watch it? The ultra-popular show has not aired a new episode since January 2023, and its final season has been eagerly awaited even without the presence of Kevin Costner, who has focused on his Horizon film franchise.
